From Ayahuasca to ARR: Mapping the Founder-to-Mystic Pipeline

There is a quiet pipeline running through the modern operator class. It begins, almost always, on a Tuesday, in a city that is not San Francisco, in a room with one candle and a person whose title is unclear. It ends, on average, eighteen months later, in a second company.

We surveyed 213 founders who passed through this pipeline between 2022 and 2026. Of those, 71% started a new venture within two years. The new ventures are unmistakable: smaller, slower, better written, and almost always involve the word 'consciousness' in the second sentence of the deck.

We call this the Founder-to-Mystic Pipeline, and we believe it is the single largest source of category-defining companies in the next decade. We also believe it is, technically, a recruiting pipeline.

What changes is not what these founders want to build. What changes is what they are willing to optimize for. The result is companies with margins that look like SaaS and storytelling that looks like scripture. The combination is, in our experience, extremely investable.
